Hope lives at Hebron
It grows among the hearts.
It keeps the people free and true
To what they are apart.
The lives of all are bettered true
And never shift to wrong.
All that we shall ever do
Will echo from our song.
Each of us imbue our life
To each from left to right.
We glow in deepest brightest light
To win the day in our great fight.

This was my first submission ever to the Hebron Writing Contest, and I can say I think it went well. I definitely enjoyed writing this piece, as well as tying it to the poem “Hope is a Thing with Feathers”. I tried to copy the rhythm while creating a new rhyme scheme as well as a new inspiration. It was exciting to read this poem for an audience later at Hebron’s 2017 Academic Expo.
This poem is very thoughtful and the way you use the rhyme words shows you strong English skill. I reflect the same idea in my hope essay as yours. I also choose a seed as the representative of hope. I love your poem! Never lose hope!
