These are my nine poems – hope you all enjoy!

Captivating Corrosive Entity

Captivating corrosive entity;
That which we all are obliged to pursue,
And will accept with full passion and glee,
Until we forget that it was never true.
That which one despises oneself without
That lacking, a life has no true purpose
A life is destinationless no doubt.
So much time wasted over such a fuss.
We have forgotten how to be alone.
We tear ourselves apart in frantic search
For what we always fear is the unknown.
Unwillfully without would us besmirch.
Lo this that human kind can’t get rid of
Captivating corrosive thing called love.
It’s Horrid, Isn’t It?

Injured by the impact and left for dead,
The crimson frog tries a futile hop
But falls down, staining the pavement more red
Succumbing to the next tire with a pop.
What remnants there are bake under the sun,
All that remain are bones and a red stane.
The birds come to the feast but there is none,
This time there is not one morsel to gain.
The road is a dark and dangerous place
For any other than people and car.
The death and destruction is a disgrace
So many animals now dead they are.
Roadkill is the never ending story
And a sad one I hope you would agree.
One Cannot Hide

Oh truth is the unifying essence
There is no need to argue about fact
From truth comes reason and all that makes sense.
There is true harmony in its exact.

Oh truth is also a terrible thing
Truth is inescapable, unmoving
One may not run from it or hide from it,
For it is all seeing and all knowing.
With tales and lies, others may be out wit
Oh but truth itself can never be tricked.

Truth is what always has been and will be.
Without truth, clearly we all could not see.
Without truth, there would not be humanity.
The Simplicities of Life

Oh what a collection of things,
People, cars, trees and birds.
Here in the park an old man sings
With delight in his words.

He sings with joy every morning
Rain or shine he sings
Never sad, never glum
Spreading peace with every strum.

But he has no house
Just a nomad with his guitar.
But he is happier than we are
Because he lobes his job.

The sound of his song
Echoes around the city strong.
The sound of his music
Will cure any heart sick.
This man is a simple man
He had loved music before he began.
He will continue to love to sing
Until to heaven death will him bring.
Beautiful but Dangerous

Please beware when sailing across the sea
For the ocean is a pitiless place
The sea can be deadly as you will see.

On the sea you are smaller than a flea
Like a prisoner in an endless space.
Please beware when sailing across the sea.

Once caught in the expanse, one cannot flee
And is caught in a powerful embrace.
The sea can be deadly as you will see.

Weak souls cannot survive you must agree
Their bodies would vanish without a trace.
Please beware when sailing across the sea.

Please do fully heed this ardent decree
When cold wind is whipping across your face,
The sea can be deadly as you will see.

Sailing on the open sea you are free
But surely don’t be deceived by its grace.
Please beware when sailing across the sea.
The sea can be deadly as you will see.
Know Yourself

To live you need to know your inner song
If you listen closely it will be clear
It is what you have searched for all along.

Deep inside you the beat is always strong
But if not carful, away you will steer.
To live you need to know your inner song.

The road to knowledge is so very long
Always filled with regret, remorse, and fear
It is what you have searched for all along.

Sometimes the search for your song is lifelong
But your enlightenment is always near
To live you need to know your inner song.

Our inner song is where we all belong
Although silly this poem might appear
It is what you have searched for all along.

This, my villanelle, I will not prolong,
I wish for you the road not be unclear
To live you need to know your inner song
It is what you have searched for all along.
A Beautiful Encounter

Swimming in the ocean the girl sees
An approaching shark.
The beast swims closer
Teeth bared, ready for the kill.

The girl gazes at the predator.
She thinks all is over,
Speechless, she stares into its eyes.
They are black pits,
Endless holes hiding dark intentions.

But the girl looks again,
She peers deeper into the eyes
Past her fears.
They are just eyes, nothing more.
This is not an evil being.
The shark swims past the amazed girl.

The leviathan disappears into the gloom,
Becoming one with the ocean once more.
The girl stares after the terrible creature
Until nothing more can be seen.

The girl keeps staring
Staring at nothing
She is crying.
She just witnessed something profound,
Something beautiful.
The Silent Majority

A walk through the forest is a wonderful thing
The untrained eye just sees
Leaf litter and the occasional squirrel.
Birds can be heard
But appear to be visible.

But next time
You find yourself in the forest.
Take the time to pause.
Look up, look down, look around.

The ground is never dead
Neither are the trees.
You don’t have to see a deer
To see nature.
Nature is all around you.

The insects biting you,
The birds scolding you,
And the mice scurrying away.

The more you see, hear, and feel
The more you know
We are not alone.
Hebron Tennis

Let me tell you a story,
I was just a little boy
This was a new school you see
I had to make all new friends.

But I made Hebron my school.
I played soccer and tennis
And did science which was cool.
I even won the pancakes.

Today I had a hard match
We played Gould Academy.
They weren’t easy to dispatch
As we had been expecting.

We won the first set easy
Then they did the same to us
This meant it was brought to three.
Twas far too intense for me.

I did not think we would win
When we were down three to two.
Chase looked at me with a grin
And said we will win this match.

I don’t exactly no why
But I trusted his spirit.
I looked up at the blue sky,
And I knew the end was nigh.

We battled up to five four
All four of us were angry
But we would not lose this war.
Chase and I were angrier.

Before my very last stroke
I located my target
A spirit in me evoke.
I hit my target and won.

I will not forget the sound
Of my all my teammates wild cheers.
Because in me I had found
Another piece of my song.

This was a good way to end
My sports career at Hebron.
Though the time begins to blend
Some times you never forget.
