A Wild Novel

Welcome me into your great escape

for the fall of each leaf is equivalent

to the turn of a coffee tainted page.

Your wind carries whispers

that whisk me away in gnarled arms

to places forbidden and adventures foretold.

Release me from your selfish fortitude

That creates an alternative reality.

Through the foggy haze of steaming moss

and the lull of a trickling stream,

you have shown me what the heart

cannot forget;

watchful eyes of jaded mysteries.
