I Miss My Summer Sweetheart

I Miss My Summer Sweetheart

David Enyedy

I think back to the times we spent, us two,

Swimming in the blue-green ocean with you…

Rolling around in the scorching white sand

Confessing our love while holding our hands.

Then you got on that plane and flew away

Leaving me watching the sun set today

Sinking below the ridge while my heart breaks

But my dear I’ll do whatever it takes…

I swear that I’ll find you someday, my dear,

Hold you in my arms, there’s nothing to fear.

Never leave me, and I won’t leave you too

So we can return to that ocean blue

Please don’t despair, my love I’m almost there

Then we can go back to the shining mer

I’ll run, I’ll swim, I’ll climb to just see you

You’re the summer paradise I’ll pursue.

Please God, don’t tease me and let that be her

I’m begging You now for who I prefer.

Oh baby, I can’t believe you left me

But come here we’ve got a whole world to see.
